As the company name indicates, Kansen Expander Industrial Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer that specializes in expander rolls.

An expander roll refers to a bow-shaped roll with a special structure that is used in the manufacturing process to form sheet-shaped base materials, such as paper, films, and fabrics. It removes wrinkles and shrinkages and spreads the base material. Our expander rolls are used by customers in various industries as essential auxiliary equipment to improve quality.

In 1932, Kansai Dyeing Machine Shokai was founded. In 1948, it went through an entity conversion to Kansai Dyeing Machine Co., Ltd. The company’s business developed by manufacturing and selling dyeing machines and other products (mainly dyeing and finishing machines). In 1952, the company succeeded in the development of the first curved expander roll in Japan (under the product name of KSK Rubber Expander Roll). The company name was changed to the current name. In 1963, the president won the Medal with Yellow Ribbon, with a recommendation from the Science and Technology Agency, for the accomplishment of improving the KSK Rubber Expander Roll based on creative ideas. The company obtained many patents as a pioneering expander roll manufacturer and has committed itself to the business of rubber expander rolls for paper, films, and other materials.

History

April 1932	Company founded under the trade name of Kansai Dyeing Machine Shokai.
September 1948	Kansai Dyeing Machine Co., Ltd. established through an entity conversion. Head office located at 1-23 Dojimahamadori, Kita-ku, Osaka City, to manufacture and sell dyeing and finishing machines and paper making machines.
July 1952	Company succeeded in the development of the first curved expander roll in Japan and put the product (name: KSK Rubber Expander Roll) on the market.
June 1963	Japan Rubber Expander Industrial Co., Ltd. established, and its rubber expander division spun off.
July 1966	Japan Rubber Expander Industrial Co., Ltd. merged with Kansai Dyeing Machine Co., Ltd., and the trade name changed to Kansen Expander Industrial Co., Ltd.
October 1967	Head office relocated to the current head office and plant in Hirakata.
October 1968	Company succeeded in the development of the KSK variable bow expander roll and put the product on the market.
November 1969	Late President Nakashima (predecessor) had the privilege of winning the Medal with Yellow Ribbon, with a recommendation from the Science and Technology Agency, for the accomplishment of improving the KSK Rubber Expander Roll based on creative ideas.
November 1972	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the first excellent declaration company commendation program.
November 1977	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the second excellent declaration company commendation program.
August 1978	Plant for manufacturing expander rolls newly established.
April 1979	Company succeeded in the development of the KSK Steel Expander Roll and became a general expander roll manufacturer.
November 1983	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the third excellent declaration company commendation program.
January 1985	Company performed an on-site application of a Teflon sheet to a paper making drier for the first time in Japan.
November 1988	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the fourth excellent declaration company commendation program.
January 1992	KS Trading Co., Ltd. established by spinning off the overseas division.
November 1993	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the fifth excellent declaration company commendation program.
November 1998	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the sixth excellent declaration company commendation program.
April 2000	Tsutomu Hidaka took office as representative director.
November 2003	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the seventh excellent declaration company commendation program.
December 2006	PT KSO PRIMA ROLL established in Indonesia through joint equity participation.
November 2008	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the eighth excellent declaration company commendation program.
November 2016	Company commended by the Hirakata tax office under the ninth excellent declaration company commendation program.
